Golden Pride is just a fantastic ale, and honestly a great gateway into stronger beers. Sure, it’s nothing like a Leffe or St. Bernardus, but it feels like the natural next step when you’re ready to graduate from a Leffe into something with a bit more punch.

Flavour-wise, you get a proper bitter caramel hit — not burnt, not harsh, just rich and satisfying. Carbonation is low and disappears fast, which actually suits it perfectly.

You can grab it easily at one of the big UK supermarkets (usually on a 4‑for‑3), or order straight from Fuller’s. At around £3 for 500ml, it’s one of the easiest strong ales to recommend.

Don’t drink it ice cold. Let it warm up a touch — the flavour gets noticeably better once it’s had a moment to breathe.
