Salt Truffle Pud

Another one picked up at ASDA on the 5‑for‑£10 promo, and I was genuinely excited to try something different. Pouring and smelling it definitely shows its stout roots, but the taste hits you with chocolate, burnt bitter caramel, and a bit of vanilla lurking in the back.
The problem — at least for me — is that the whole thing leans into this weird artificial edge. Not just “dessert beer artificial,” but almost medicinal, like that plasticky chocolate‑vanilla flavour you get in cheap cough syrup or those fake peanut‑butter stouts from the US. Once I noticed it, I couldn’t un‑taste it.
On the positive side, it’s properly syrupy (you can feel the stickiness on your lips), but it somehow avoids being overly sweet.
Unfortunately, this one’s a no for me.
